| Attention, Jazz Lovers & Jazz Curious.... Greater Hartford's only international music festival will offer something for everyone in the way of , jazz, blues, Latin, rock & world music and it happens only in Hartford's central business district. As in the past, all music stages will be within easy walking distance 0f each other. There will be Main Stages showcasing some of the world's best musicians. Main Stage artists will include Cuba's Omar Sosa at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Blues man Carl Weathersby at Black-Eyed Sally's, Big Fuzz, a spin-off of Deep Banana Blackout at Sweet Jane's Rock & Roll Cafe, Japanese pianist Eri Yamamoto in a free concert at Hartford's Downtown Library, jazz legends Lou Donaldson & Dr. Lonnie Smith at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, a swing dance party at 960 Main starring Roger Ceresi & the All Starz, the Hartford debut of the Carla Marciano Quartet from Salerno, Italy at Mezzanine, a five-year HIJF celebration party at Spris Restaurant with world music group, Babaloo and, of course, the big Festival Finale at City Steam Brewery with the Cyrus Chestnut Trio featuring sax man Eric Alexander. This year, the Hilton Hartford will be our official festival hotel. The Hilton is inviting all festival fans to stay for the weekend with a special festival rate for all Jazz Heads. Saturday and Sunday afternoon, the Hilton will have a "Young Musicians Stage" set up in the Element 315 lobby bar as a way of showcasing some of the areas up-and-coming jazz music students. In addition to the Main Stages, downtown Hartfords' most popular bars and restaurants will once again be joining the festival as Encore Stages featuring the area's best local and regional musicians.
