Intense & passionate, she had seduced the public.In may 2004, both Mélanie De Biasio and Steve Houben accompanied with Pascal Mohy, pianist, came back on the Liège Jazz Festival stage to share another great jazz moment. The young belgian singer, Mélanie De Biasio, kept on singing standards of vocal jazz with natural and sensuality. She defenitly has a secret which probably comes from her sensitive personnality, her heart and her abality to communicate many kinds of emotions. She started studying classical music at 3 years old beginning with the singing. A few years later she specialized in (flûte trversière). It became a passion that led her to the Charleroi Harmony. When she was 12 years old, she went to Canada with the Harmony for a one-month (tournée). On the other hand, Melanie show also an interest for classical dance and theater. These courses gave her the opportunity to develop the right expression of her emotions. Aged 17, she became a member of Orange Kazoo and explored the crossing between jazz and rock. Beside a fiftyish gigs in Belgium, she accompanied the group in Germany and Russia for a one-month (tournée). In the meantime, she was also following courses (1997-2000) at the Royal conservatory of Brussel where she met Steve Houben, professor at the conservatory, beginning a promessing jazz singer career. Mélanie De Biasio is playing live every sundays at the PP café - 28 rue Jules Van Praet - 1000 Bruxelles, and sometimes on during the week when announced. |
